Chat/Ticket Support Ad Response/Cover Letter UPDATE

Chat/Ticket Support Ad Response/Cover Letter UPDATE

This is an up date to the Chat/Ticket Support Ad Response/Cover Letter.
My idiotic passion for customer support quality has yet again caused me to rant on the matter. Is it perhaps because I have not functioned in the said role for some time now that I have lost sight of the ideals of what is expected to be quality customer service? Maybe I need a refresher course. Throw me a lifeline here.

The Reaction
Thanks for your application and referral, Norman! I'll let you know if one of the friends you referred ends up being hired. We have received a lot of applications over time, but look for something quite different from traditional customer service centers. A lot of things is attitude-- I noticed you commented "I don't see this as vague" or "I don't feel the need to ask a question" when I mentioned those details as hints to help you write a response that suits our tone.
Thanks for all of your links! Keep on blogging. I need to get back to that.

My Rant
Thanks for the response and I am sorry we do not see eye to eye on the way things are done. I respect your viewpoints and I understand that I may not be a good fit for your type of customer service but what you see as attitude I see as an appropriate course of action for the example scenarios. Ticket 2 deserves an answer and I made the appropriate response to help the customer with his concern which is not vague at all. If you insist that an answer to it should not be provided, your knowledge of the knowledge base might be short of what is required to answer customer tickets. Ticket 3 required that we acknowledge and appreciate his comments and reassure him that support is always ready to help. By asking a question and keeping the conversation going we overstep our bounds, this should be support not a forum.
Pardon me for speaking my mind but sometimes the inadequacy of some people to understand or figure out what is really being asked and dismissing them as vague clogs up the customer service process and causes dissatisfaction for many customers. A ticket that should have been addressed completely the first time becomes a tennis ball that goes back and forth.
I apologize for the rant, a few friends have indicated some interest and I will send them the link for the application process. I hope you don't mind that I gave them a heads up on what kind of customer service would be required of them and I think these guys are professional enough to adjust to your ways. Again, instead of giving a gift to the one who referred them, in this case me, forward the gift to the one I referred, if ever they get the job.
Best of luck,
Norman

My Cover Letter

I do not feel confident responding to these tickets with only some cursory reading of the Knowledge Base but here goes:

Ticket #1:
Be friendly. Give this user some online resources and/or explanations. *
From user: “Hey Strikingly team, I’ve just made a site and added a background image to it. It’s a beautiful landscape with a title and paragraph about my company. However, the text on my background image is not showing properly, particularly on mobile!! Why is this? Tell me more about bg images, and let me know what to do. David”

David,
I am sure you made the perfect choice with that beautiful landscape as your background but the most common reason for a site seeming incompatible on mobile devices is because of masked forwarding. You can learn more about it at "knowledgebase/articles/239283-why-is-my-website-not-showing-up-correctly-on-mobi."
About images, the recommended a size for background images is 1600 pixels wide by 900 pixels tall so your background can look great on all devices. You can learn some other tricks on it at "knowledgebase/articles/175876-what-size-should-my-background-images-be-."
You can always get in touch with support if you have further issues.
Thanks,
Support Team

Ticket #2:
When we see casual and vague tickets like this, we use a friendly and casual tone, and make sure to ask relevant questions. You may not be able to help this user right away. Refer the user to online resources, or explain, as you see fit." *
From user: "How do I get mysite.com to connect!? What is this "domain" thing? It’s not working!"

"I see nothing vague about the concern and here is my response."

Dear User,
There are a few things to consider and I am hoping that by reading up on them you will soon get mysite.com to connect to a Strikingly site. First of all, connecting a domain is only available if you have a Limited or Pro account but you can learn about other considerations by going to "knowledgebase/articles/192451-how-do-i-connect-a-domain-name-to-a-strikingly-sit."
A domain or domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or control on the Internet. Domain names are formed by the rules and procedures of the Domain Name System (DNS). Any name registered in the DNS is a domain name. Read more about it on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_name .
If its is still not working please let us know we will try our best to find a solution.
Thanks,
Support Team

Ticket #3:
We get, and like getting, these positive messages in our support system! Be a friend in return. Keeps the conversation going by asking a question. *

From user: “That’s perfect. Also wanted to say how I am impressed how you guys have stepped up the customer service. Lots of competitors in your space, I believe the one with greatest customer service / response time will win out :-) Good luck with everything :-) I’m excited to build my next project with you guys.

"I feel no need to ask a question."

Dear User,
The Support Team is always glad to be at your service. We are constantly improving on the things we do here at support, it's nice to receive some validation for for the hard work performed by the team and we appreciate it very much. Response/Cover Letter for the Job Ad: "Regular Writers Needed For Articles, Web Content, Blogs and Product Descriptions"

Response/Cover Letter for the Job Ad: "Regular Writers Needed For Articles, Web Content, Blogs and Product Descriptions"

Regular Writers Needed For Articles, Web Content, Blogs and Product Descriptions
Hourly - Est. Time More than 6 months, Part-time - 10-30 hrs/week - Posted 17 hours ago - View Job Posting

Job Description
I need a regular writer who can produce articles, web content, blogs, video descriptions basically web development and seo related tasks. I'm guessing it would be about the equivalent of 8000 words a week give or take a few articles (I based it on 8 X 1000 word articles which I will need immediately)

I will pay by the hour because I am looking for someone who can research well, can write in their own words and has excellent english (US) grammar and spelling.

I hope this is a long term relationship and that I will be able to employ more than one writer at a time.

Knowledge of backlinking, seo and web design is a bonus as I will be looking for help shortly in these areas as well. I do it all myself now-with the exception of a few good writers I've worked with the last year or two.

I would like to scale up and produce an average of 3 websites a month (for one site I need a minimum of 40 articles between 500 and 1000 words. In addition I would need blog articles dripping away on all sites so... there's plenty of work if can find the right person who fits my budget and is dependable for quality work.

Topics to be written about immediately involve the following:

1. Payday Loans, installment loans, title loans
2. Skin Care: skin disorders, skin solutions, skin care companies
3. Network marketing
4. Hair Care by Salons, brazilian blowouts
5. Medical cannabis card
6. home remodeling
7. Vodka
8. Adult topics
9. Books, ebooks, kindles, latest best sellers
10. American Culture, american politics, religions, american dream

Tell me the topic you want to write about in your trial run and I will give you five assignments to finish. If it's at a decent rate we do it again with more work and keep building from there.

Cover Letter
I can produce articles, web content, blogs, video descriptions and more.
I have 10 hours free weekly to work on this as a side project.

500 words = 1 oDesk hour = $6.67 (inclusive of oDesk fee)
That is if the posts required are not research intensive and simple topics to write.

All I need is a keyword, a title (optional), the word count and how many times you want the keyword to appear, the piece will be delivered on time and to spec.
Keyword, Title (optional), 800 words, 6x

I can write on any of the most pressing topics to be written but i would like to try my hand at number 8 on the list, "Adult topics."

Please check some sample work at the following links:

I can start immediately
Thanks,
Norman

I ultimately need a VA. DO you think you would fulfill this function?
Yes.

What areas of web development are you most familiar with?
I have worked on many projects, some including SEO and web development, but the tasks have been highly compartmentalized, I do not know if they would be of any use. Why don't you bounce some sample tasks and maybe I can accomplish them.

If an american reader were to read your articles-do you think they would know whether you were american or not?
I do not have a definitive answer for this but a few American clients have certainly passed off my work as theirs, were they discovered to be passing off work that was not their own and not from an American speaker, I do not know the answer to this.

What are you greatest contributing qualities to these projects?
The writing I guess, if it passes your scrutiny.

I can take your stock descriptions and make them unique so Google does not identify them as duplicate content.
With some research I am certain I can write about firearms-related products. I can also apply what I learn from you to my prepping which is a plus for me.

What is your proudest accomplishment so far in your life?

There are many things I can be proud of in my life, like my family, wife, daughter or perhaps the work I do for various clients here on oDesk. Having said that, I prefer not to be "proud", I would rather think of it all as a consequence of my existence.

Response/Cover Letter for the Ad "Seeking Native English Speaking Virtual Assistant for ADULT Internet Marketing Jobs"

Response/Cover Letter for the Ad "Seeking Native English Speaking Virtual Assistant for ADULT Internet Marketing Jobs"

I do not have any issues working with adult videos, adult websites, and contacting adult webmasters, in fact I rather enjoy it.
I have experience writing adult video/product titles and descriptions and other forms of writing regarding adult content. You can take a look at some adult writing samples I made at http://ph-erotica.blogspot.com/. These should give you an idea of what I am capable of.
I can upload adult videos but there might be some concerns on your part regarding the speed of my internet. If 1 MBPS is enough, were good but in case this is not sufficient I can upgrade to 2 MBPS as long as you provide me enough work hours for me to justify the added cost of the upgrade.
The detailed descriptions and tags are easy enough to do. I am familiar with Wordpress so writing the reviews of trailers and uploading them to a Wordpress site is not going to be an issue.
Contacting webmasters of adult sites about traffic exchanges is something I have done but I would appreciate some training on how you do things.
I have done auditing of websites by looking at PageRank, Alexa Rank, external links, search engine traffic, etc., I use SEOquake but like the traffic exchange you might do things differently so I would be thankful if you can show me how you do things your way.
You can check my previous work experience on my oDesk profile on https://www.odesk.com/users/~~ba3ea8eee7821747 but it will not show any adult internet marketing experience and this is due to the compartmentalized jobs I have been involved in.
Please check out some sample work at any of the following sites:
http://normansodeskblog.blogspot.com/
http://odesk-writing-samples.blogspot.com/
http://my-recipe-repository.blogspot.com/
http://prepper-pupil.blogspot.com/

I would like to state as well that I am NOT a native English speaker.

Also please answer the following questions in your application:
Have you ever worked with Wordpress?
Yes.
http://normansodeskblog.wordpress.com/
http://www.indiepeace.com/blogitup/
http://www.eagleshack.com/survival/
Are you comfortable with adult content?
Yes.
Are you comfortable enough to watch an adult video and write about it?
Yes, I have done it before.
Do you have any prior experience in internet marketing? (SEO, social media, email marketing, link trades, etc.)
Blog commenting, forum profile creation and posting and email outreach for some link exchange.
I hope I have provided enough information for you to make an informed choice but I can add you on Skype and we can always talk about the job via chat.
I can start immediately.
Thanks,
Norman

Online Customer Service Job Response/Cover Letter

Online Customer Service Job Response/Cover Letter

Hi, I would love to work as a non-voice customer service representative for your online e-commerce site. Here is how I would address the listed tasks:

-Reading tickets and sorting them by topic and order importance
It would have been helpful to know what CRM system you were using but learning it should not be an issue. If you already have a classification or categorization system in place I would use it but I would consider unshipped products, VIP concerns, cancellations to be some paramount concerns that need to be resolved ASAP.
-Checking on basic issues related to the customers' order and responding with extreme kindness and discretion.
A delightful customer service experience can be helpful in promoting both customer satisfaction as well as prevent people from moving to the retention cue. A warm response to an issue and responding with some action to immediately solve the problem can be a one-two punch that customers would love.
-Researching the client and assessing if they are a VIP (we have a lot of clients that are top executives in the world's largest companies).
Customers are not created equal, some are valued more by the establishment and some are ordinary. That said, there is a sufficient amount of attention given to all customers which I will ensure and to that I will add a bit more for the VIPs. Tagging these VIPs may be something worth taking time to correctly identify in order to mitigate any embarrassing mishap, like an Oprah situation.
-Understanding basic troubleshooting options for our product.
It will take some time to understand the basic troubleshooting options for your product but a week or so should be sufficient.
-Retention of clients who are interested in a refund, if possible.
Retention is always possible and a company that does not bother is missing out on a resource. I was involved in the retention campaign for a dial-up ISP company and I even handled escalation concerns. You can just imagine how we were fighting a losing battle with dial-up ISP but we managed to get an 83% retention rate on our best month and the worst performance was 59%. The advancement of technology was just something we could not stop and to add to that it was getting cheaper as the minutes went by.

You are the perfect candidate if you
1) you enjoy solving problems on behalf of others
This I genuinely love to do.
2) You are obsessive about your spelling.
I would not categorize myself to be obsessive but I do try to do error free work.
3) You enjoy and respect the fact that doing customer service is often intertwined with the customer's life (a wedding, a graduation, a family gift, etc... is often what our customers want our product for).
A customer is not a support ticket or just another voice on the line but a person and should be treated as such.
I hope I have provided enough information for you to make an informed decision but you can always know more about me through the links listed below:

Response/Cover Letter to Tweak web copy to create stronger calls to action

Tweak web copy to create stronger calls to action

You should have a strong marketing background and be able to create value propositions and persuasive content that speaks to the read not sales them and creates conversions based on trust. A business and or physiology background would you be useful. Someone that has learnt skills from copyhackers.com is the sort of person that can help.

Please provider and example of a landing page or an action based web site you have created copy for.

Response/Cover Letter
You say, "A business and or physiology background would you be useful." I do believe you meant "psychology", phisiology is something quite far removed from sales and does not make sense at all. Psychology makes more sense, in sales it has been used as a tool to direct a consumer to a desired end result and that is to buy. The site copyhackers.com must be something else, its mere mention indicates that you have been impressed by them and that a candidate that is under their tutelage is almost a sure thing for this job. I have bookmarked their site just in case, you were astounded by what they can do, so maybe I can learn a thing or two from them. You must have scrutinized them thoroughly to have mentioned their site on this ad. I would appreciate it if you can apply the same scrutiny and check out some sample work. If it passes your requirements maybe I can start tweaking that web copy.

Cover Letter for Virtual Assistant/Writer Wanted

I hope I can be the virtual assistant/writer who will assist you with some data input, research, short description writing, social media support, newsletter work and general administration tasks.
I am certainly honest and hard working and I am also able to communicate effectively in English. I am also motivated - providing for family drives me. I can be available on Skype at the work hours you require.
I am available for 10-15 hours per week.

"Questions for you:"
1. Please tell me about yourself and your background.  Where are you from? What is your education background? What are your interests?
I am a BPO professional and I have been going at it on my own here at oDesk for over 4 years. I am from Angeles City, Pampanga - a city in the main island of Luzon here in the Philippines. I am a college undergraduate who decided to start working instead of studying in a highly commercialized educational system. I have many interests, some of which are PC games, Naruto, documentaries, cooking and many more.
2. Please explain why I should hire you for this position over the other applicants?  There are many VAs to choose from so convince me that you are the right one for the job.
The only reason why you would hire me is if I can do the job required at a price you can afford or are willing to pay. I have the job requirements down but I have no clue if my hourly rate is acceptable. I would rather not convince you, instead you can make an informed decision based on the information that I have provided. Please look into these links for you to be better informed about me and what I can do or you can also check them out just to know more about me:
http://normansodeskblog.blogspot.com/
http://odesk-writing-samples.blogspot.com/
http://my-recipe-repository.blogspot.com/
http://prepper-pupil.blogspot.com/
3. What is your proposed rate of pay?
$6.67 per oDesk hour (including oDesk fee)
5. What hours are you available on skype?
I will make myself available on Skype on the working hours you dictate.
I apologize for the rather long cover letter but I needed to respond to every point and be as detail oriented as possible.
I can start immediately.
Thanks for your time,
Norman

Rewrite test

There is scientific evidence that short term creatine use can increase maximum power and performance in high-intensity anaerobic repetitive work (periods of work and rest) by 5 to 15%. This is mainly bouts of running/cycling sprints and multiple sets of low RM weightlifting. Single effort work shows an increase of 1 to 5%. This refers mainly to single sprints and single lifting of 1-2RM weights. However, some studies show no ergogenic effect at all. Studies in endurance athletes have been less than promising, most likely because these activities are sustained at a given intensity and thus do not allow for significant intra-exercise synthesis of additional creatine phosphate molecules. Ingesting creatine can increase the level of phosphocreatine in the muscles up to 20%. It must be noted creatine has no significant effect on aerobic endurance, though it will increase power during short sessions of high-intensity aerobic exercise

REWRITE

Creatinine use for short periods has been proven in scientific studies to cause an increase in anaerobic performance and provide maximum power  when utilized for workouts involving repetitive high-intensity routines like sprinting when running or cycling and when using weights. The increase varies between by 5-15% while for other exertions it can be between 1-5%. In a few studies it does not reflect any ergogenic effect and in the case of endurance athletes the indicate unflattering results. The explanation may have something to do with these activities requiring a sustained level of intensity that need no further synthesis of creatine phosphate molecules. Expect up to a 20% increase in phosphocreatine levels in your muscles when you ingest creatinine. Remember though that creatinine will not have big effect on aerobic endurance. Its strength is in short bursts of power in quick high-intensity workouts.
